Congratulations on your appointment as executive chair of the New Zealand International Festival of the Arts Trust Board and best wishes in advance for the challenges you will face in this new role.

Last week, an article in the Dominion Post with the headline 'Arts festival warning: Use it or lose it' quoted your predecessor Fran Wilde as saying that Wellingtonians needed to show more support for the festival if they wanted it to remain in the capital.
